Linear Project Management

WHAT IS TILOS?

Tilos is a time-location planning software used for managing linear construction projects, primarily infrastructure projects.

It can be applied across various sectors of the construction industry, such as highway, railway, pipeline, and tunnel construction, as well as in water engineering or transmission line projects.

Tilos was developed to improve the visualization of repetitive tasks during the planning and management of large-scale projects. The time-location diagram supports all types of projects involving highways, railways, tunnels, pipelines, and bridges.

A key advantage of Tilos is the visual presentation of data in terms of both time and location on a single plan. While CPM schedules and network diagrams are more analytical, they do not offer a visual connection between the project plan and the actual construction project.

Displaying the Critical Path on a Time-Distance Diagram

Bridges, pumping stations, or other activities can be planned in a separate subproject, and their main activities or milestones can be linked to the time-distance diagram.

Traditional planning systems display their results using Gantt charts or network diagrams. Linear projects present unique challenges, as crews and equipment move along the construction site to perform their tasks. None of the traditional diagrams can graphically show the relationship between the location of the work (distance axis) and the time it is performed (time axis).

Time-distance diagrams clearly communicate scope by displaying project details and the schedule in a single view.

Advanced time-location planning of assets and resources creates a simple visualization of the current state of the project at any given moment. To fully leverage scheduling and linear planning software, it is essential to combine time and distance.

Using the linear planning method enables teams to collaborate more effectively. The visualization of the project plan schedule is presented in a way that allows construction teams to quickly review and understand the progress of the work.

Visualize project performance from planning through execution to project completion. Compare current project snapshots with past and future plans.

Tilos linear planning software is optimized for scheduling mass transport and materials in construction projects.

The movement of materials across a large construction site is coordinated using time chain scheduling software to ensure ideal project execution. You always know where your materials and assets are.

SOLUTIONS

Gantt charts grouped by location and company; Tilos combines Gantt schedules, site layout plans, elevations, earthworks management, scales, and histograms into a single view;

Ability to add annotated construction site photos.

Conflict detection through linear planning;  Progress tracking based on location, displayed in terms of time and distance.

Effortlessly visualize cut-and-fill locations in your projects; Monitor and calculate resources for planning purposes;
A more efficient way to utilize resources, such as determining optimal machine placement within the project.
